Introduction

The Back Panel is an important structural component of the HTC Fortress that rests between the battery and motherboard. If the back panel has sustained some physical damage and is preventing the phone from fitting together properly you may consider replacing it.

In this guide, you will learn how to remove the back panel of the HTC Fortress and install a new one.

  • Remove the back cover of the device by sliding it upward.

Image 1/3: Be careful, there is a cable attached underneath the camera panel. Image 2/3: Gently pull the camera panel away from the phone to detach the cable. Image 3/3: During reassembly, reattach the cable by holding the silver-plated ending slightly above its slot and using the spudger to gently press it into its fitting. Then, insert the camera panel so it is flush with the back panel again.
  • Remove the camera panel by hand (black cover above the battery slot).

  • Be careful, there is a cable attached underneath the camera panel.

  • Gently pull the camera panel away from the phone to detach the cable.

  • During reassembly, reattach the cable by holding the silver-plated ending slightly above its slot and using the spudger to gently press it into its fitting. Then, insert the camera panel so it is flush with the back panel again.
