Katie, 10 stars on this. It 100% accurately describes the replacement of the whole keyboard deck including the kbd and the touchpad as one unit. Please put in a warning, the keyboards being sold that are only the keyboard poriton are not valid replacements. I have tried to do such a replacement of a $30 one and there is no way to separate the deck from the keyboard without damage. Again, kudos on this, i opened the computer with zero problems and then hit the wall. I will be buying a replacement deck with the kbd and pad - once assembled, diassembly and replacement is just not the way.
