What you need

Turn off the device, disconnect it from all power, and remove the battery.

Remove 2 screws securing the memory cover, then remove the cover.

Remove the 2 screws securing the hardware cover, then remove the cover.

Remove the 2 screws securing the hard drive cover, then remove the cover.

Remove the screws (as shown in pic), these two screws secure the HP keyboard.

Make sure to use a flathead screwdriver or a similar tool to release the two keyboard tabs.

Turn the device right-side up and pull the keyboard frame upward. Make sure to use a flathead screwdriver or similar tool to pry the keyboard from the frame.

Locate and remove the lockdown cable and unlock the keyboard cables.

Slide out the keyboard cable and install a new HP Pavilion DM4 keyboard.
