HP Pavilion 14-cf0014dx Fan Replacement

Introduction

Is your device constantly running hot or is overheating? If so, the fan may be faulty and needs to be replaced. Follow the instructions in this guide to remove and replace the fan in the HP Pavilion 14-cf0014dx.

What you need

  1. HP Pavilion 14-cf0014dx Fan Replacement, Back Panel: step 1, image 1 of 1

    • Flip the device over so that the backside is facing you.

    • Remove the rubber feet to expose six screws.

    • Using the Phillips #1 screwdriver, remove six screws securing the back panel to the device.

    • Insert a plastic opening tool and run it along the edges of the laptop.

    • Remove the back panel from the device.

    • Using the Phillips #0 screwdriver, remove the four screws securing the battery in place.

    • Lift the battery up and out and remove it from the device.

    • Using the Phillips #0 screwdriver, remove the two screws securing the fan to the motherboard.

    • Carefully lift the fan up and out of the device.

    • Disconnect the fan from the motherboard and fully remove the fan from the device.
