Introduction

This is such a solid printer, but when the print count exceeds 150k accordian ripples may occur. I will instruct how to replace the Fuser Assembly, pickup rollers and Exit roller in the HP / EX line of printers. This covers the HP 4, 4+,and 5.

Parts

No parts specified.

    • Unplug the printer, open the back door, remove the two screws down low which hold the fuser assembly in place. ( Screws are silver) Grab the fuser and pull out in an upward direction, put fuser aside. Grab your new fuser and reverse the procedure, fuser will click into place and the screw holes will line up.

    • New line.

    • Install the two silver screws back in there holes. Now while the back rear door is open, look for the two screws in the right and left corners and remove them. Open the top toner cartridge door and remove the toner. On the top cover, remove the one silver screw, you can now lift the top off the printer, make sure you unplug the display cable as you

    • lift the top cover off. Focus on the rear of printer once more, push in on the exit roller clips ( at the base of the exit/ delivery ass'y ) and lift the exit / delivery assembly off, as you carefully remove the silver clip on the right side. Remove the two worn rollers from the exit/ delivery assembly and reinstall the new rollers. Reinstall....

Conclusion

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
