Introduction

The following guide will instruct the user on the replacement of the Wireless LAN module or Wi-Fi card of an HP EliteBook x360 830 G5. The Wireless LAN module is a network adapter that allows users to access peer-to-peer, also known as local-access, networks.

Before starting this guide, be sure to turn off your laptop and unplug from the charging cord.

What you need

  1. HP EliteBook x360 830 G5 Wireless LAN Module Replacement, Back Cover: step 1, image 1 of 1

    • With the T5 screw-bit and screwdriver, loosen the five captive screws on the bottom of the laptop.

    • With a spudger or opening tool, pry above the computer's hinges and separate the posterior edge and sides.

    • The back cover is held in place by magnetic strips.

    • Remove the battery.

    • Disconnect the coaxial antenna cables from the LAN module with a small pair of tweezers.

    • With the Phillips #1 screwdriver, loosen the single screw attaching the LAN module to the board.
