Introduction
This guide will show you how to replace the RAM in a HP 15-ay078nr laptop. RAM is used as a short term memory for things that the computer is currently working on, so that it is easily accessible and can be deleted after the computer is done with the current task. Without RAM, none of the files on the computer would be able to work. Bad RAM can result in your device not turning on and not functioning correctly. Before you begin, make sure the device is off and not connected to a power source. RAM does not hold any of the device’s long-term memory, meaning all your saved files will be safe after the replacement is complete.
What you need

Orient the laptop so that the underside is facing up.

Rotate the device so that the CD slot is in the upper left corner.

Using your fingers, push each battery latch simultaneously towards the middle.

Remove the battery from the laptop.

Pull off the two rubber feet on the underside of the device.

Remove the twelve 9.5 mm screws from the underside of the device using a Phillips #2 screwdriver.

Slide an opening pick around the edges between the back panel and the rest of the device to release the plastic retention clips that hold the panel in place.

Pull the latches apart, releasing the RAM from its holder.

Remove the old RAM from the laptop.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
If the device does not work, you will need to make sure that the RAM sticks have equal measurements to each other, otherwise it will not work properly
