Introduction
The H4D engine has a wet sump. A variable displacement oil pump provides the necessary oil pressure for all parts.
The torque settings specified here are from the RTA.

Oil pan retaining screw: 10 N.m

Drain plug: 50 N.m

The pan has a volume of approximately 3.7 L without the filter and 4.3 L with the filter. The volume difference between the MIN and MAX marks on the oil dipstick is approximately 1.0 L.

The oil pump is driven by a secondary chain connected to the crankshaft sprocket. It features variable displacement and an electronic on-off valve, which acts as a pressure limiter from 4,500 RPM.
