Glorious Model O Cable Replacement

What you need

    • Take your blow dryer and turn on the heat setting. Aim the heat at the bottom two mouse skates.

    • Peel it off using your hands or nails when the adhesive is warm.

    • Remove the two 1.5 mm screws at the bottom of the mouse with a Phillips #000 screwdriver.

    • Gently lift the bottom of the mouse.

    • Be careful not to lift it up too high, because of the LED light strips that are still connected.

    • Lift the front of the mouse. Gently free the front of the mouse from those hooks.

    • Lifting up the mouse just a bit is going give you room to see the LED light strips.

    • Push up on the pins that hold them down.

    • There are 2 LED light strips. Repeat the same process with the left one.

    • Gently wiggle out the cable connector. If you can't wiggle it out, pull harder on the side of the cable connector.

    • Warning: Do not grab it by the wires.

    • Take out the cable, start at the front of the mouse (near the scroll wheel) and grab the cable and lift it out of its rods that hold it in place.

    • Insert your new cable starting at the front.

    • There are little rods that hold the cable. Line your cable on the inside of those rods.

    • Plug in your cable connector. There needs to be a click.

    • If you don't hear the click that means that its not properly connected.
