What you need

    • Before you begin, make sure the drain cleaner is disconnected from power.

    • Loosen the belt guard knob enough to be able to slide the belt guard toward the front of the drain cleaner.

    • Slide the belt guard toward the front of the drain cleaner and off of the motor.

    • Push down on the motor to take tension off of the belt.

    • The motor mount is spring-loaded to keep tension on the belt.

    • Lift the belt off of the motor pulley and remove it from the motor.

    • Use two 1/2 inch wrenches to remove the four nut and bolt sets securing the motor to the drain cleaner.

    • During reassembly, make sure that the belt pulley on the motor is lined up with the belt groove on the cage before tightening the bolts.

    • Remove the motor assembly.
