What you need

    • Open the door.

    • Measure the distance from the the forend screw holding the cylinder to the faceplate as shown in the picture.

    • Buy the new cylinder.

    • The maximum overhead you can dimension the new cylinder too large is 2mm. If The cylinder sticks out too much it becomes vulnerable to cracking.

    • Use a PZ2 screwdriver to remove the fixing screw from the side of the lock.

    • Some older locks might use a slotted screw instead.

    • Insert the key and turn it to about 20° to the right (or left) to release the cylinder from the lock insert.

    • Pull out the old cylinder.
