    • Keep the foam element facing down so dirty water cannot contaminate the pleated paper.

    • Run warm water over the inside and outside of the foam element, and gently squeeze the foam to expel dirt.

    • Wash the outside of the filter, fill it with warm water, cover the openings with your hands, and shake it gently.

    • Repeat the wash until the water runs clear.

    • Gently shake out excess water and leave the filter to drain with the foam element facing up.

    • Leave the filter in a dry area with good airflow for at least 24 hours.

    • The filter must be completely dry before reinstallation.

    • Do not use a tumble dryer, oven, microwave, heater, or open flame to speed drying.

    • If the filter still feels damp after 24 hours, let it dry longer.

    • Wash the filter once a month to help maintain suction.

    • Wash it more often after vacuuming fine dust or using Boost mode frequently.

    • Replace the filter if it is damaged, worn, or cleaning no longer restores performance.

    • Use a replacement that is compatible with Dyson V12 vacuums.
