Step 1 - Safety First: Power down completely. Disconnect from mains. Wait 30 minutes. Put on an anti-static wrist strap before handling the display assembly.
-
Step 2 - Confirm Diagnosis: Before replacing the display, confirm the issue is the display itself and not the CPU PCB. If the machine boots normally but the screen is blank, the display is the likely culprit. If the machine shows other error behavior, investigate the CPU PCB first.
-
Step 3 - Remove the Front Panel: Remove 6x Phillips screws from the front panel. Carefully set the panel aside. Step 4 - Access the Display Assembly: The display is mounted on the front panel assembly. It is connected to the control board via a display cable and power connector.
-
Step 5 - Photograph Everything: Photograph the cable routing and all connections before disconnecting anything. Step 6 - Disconnect the Display Cables: Carefully disconnect the display cable and power connector. These connectors are fragile - do not force them.
-
Step 7 - Remove the Display: Remove the 4 mounting screws. Lift the display straight out. Step 8 - Install New Display (PN 0635-309-01): Place the new display unit in position. Secure with mounting screws. Reconnect all cables in the exact configuration photographed in Step 5.
-
Step 9 - Test Before Closing: Before replacing the front panel, power on briefly to confirm the display functions correctly. Check touchscreen response across the full screen surface.
-
Step 10 - Final Assembly and Test: Replace the front panel. Run a full startup diagnostic. Test all touchscreen functions including power setting adjustments and mode selection.
-
Step 11 - Log the Repair: Record date, part number (0635-309-01), technician, and symptoms that prompted replacement.
