Introduction

The RAM in a computer plays an important job in multitasking. If your computer is slow when multiple programs are open, the RAM might need to be replaced. This guide instructs you how to replace the RAM in a Dell Vostro 1700.

  1. Use the Plastic Opening Tools to pry off the tab located on  the right side of the top face plate.   6. Lift the keyboard from the laptop and remove it. Ensure the connector is fully disconnected before lifting the keyboard out.

  7. Dislodge the RAM from its slot. Push the retaining clips outward with your fingers. Push the retaining clips outward with your fingers.

  11. Lift the RAM chip up and out of the slot. Lift the RAM chip up and out of the slot. Lift the RAM chip up and out of the slot.
