1. Step 1 Remove battery and base cover
  Before performing this task, make sure you turn off the computer and disconnect every external drive from it, whether it's a USB drive, power charger, or wireless adapter.

2. Step 2 Open retention clips
  Open the retention clips away from the memory chip.

3. Step 3 Remove memory chip
  Remove the memory chip from the computer.

5. Step 4 New memory chip
  Put a new memory chip in the memory socket.

6. Step 5 Push in memory clips; second chip installed
