What you need

  1. Dell Inspiron 15 M5030 Hard Drive Replacement, Remove the Screws: step 1, image 1 of 1

    • CAUTION: To avoid electrostatic discharge, ground yourself by using a wrist grounding strap or by periodically touching an unpainted metal surface (such as a connector on your computer).

    • Remove the two screws that secure the hard drive to the base of the computer.

    • Slide the hard drive away from the hard-drive connector on the system board.

    • Lift the hard drive out of the hard-drive bay.

    • Place the NEW hard drive in the hard-drive bay and push the hard drive towards the connector until it is fully seated.

    • Turn the computer over and replace the two screws that secure the hard- drive to the base of the computer.
