What you need

    • Use a 5 mm Allen Wrench to remove the two bolts attaching the front and back deck platforms to the torsion bar.

    • If your bolts have rusted, we recommend using WD-40 Specialist: Rust Remover Soak to remove rust from the bolts.

    • Pull the torsion bar and torsion ball shell from each deck platform to separate them.

    • Slide the damaged torsion bar out of the torsion bar shell.

    • Clean the torsion bar shell and inner deck platforms of dirt and rust with soap and damp towel.

    • We recommend wearing gloves as you might be dealing with rust.

    • WD-40 Specialist: Rust Remover Soak may be utilized for excessive rust.

    • Apply white lithium grease to the inside of the deck platforms and torsion bar shell.

    • Avoid contact with eyes and skin when utilizing white lithium grease.

    • If gloves are unavailable, then you can substitute with a paper towel or popsicle stick to spread grease.

    • Insert the new torsion bar into the torsion bar shell.

    • Align the threaded holes into the original position with the bolt holes.

    • Remember to face the flat side of the thread hole upwards toward the ceiling.

    • Reattach the two 5 mm bolts connecting the torsion bar and deck platforms with the Allen wrench.
