Introduction

This guide shows how to remove and replace the control switch on the Clarke EZ-8 floor sander.

  1. Before you begin your repair, disconnect all power cables to reduce the risk of short circuits and electric shock.

  5. Pull up on the latch at the bottom of the handle assembly, then remove the retaining plate from its slot in the handle.   10. Before disassembly, note where each lead connects. Be sure to return each one to its original position in the wiring panel during reassembly.

    • Use a #2 Phillips head screwdriver to remove the following three screws from the wiring panel:

    • Two 10-32 x 3/8" screws

    • One 8-32 x 3/8" screw

    • Remove the ring and fork terminals from the screws.

  11. Pull and gently wiggle the control switch to remove it from its mounting hole in the control housing. There may be an additional star washer on the toggle switch inside the housing.
