Introduction

In order to remove and replace the mainboard, the back panel must first be removed by taking out the two screws on the back of the device. Next, the four screws that secure the mainboard must be removed. This will free both the mainboard and battery to be removed and replaced.

  • Flip device over, so the back panel and screws can be seen.

  • Unscrew the two 9mm screws on the back panel using the Phillips PH0 attachment.

  • Remove the back panel of the device by simply lifting upward.

Image 1/2: Unscrew these screws using a Flathead 2.5 mm screwdriver. Image 2/2: Unscrew these screws using a Flathead 2.5 mm screwdriver.
  • Locate the four 7mm screws holding the motherboard in place.

  • Unscrew these screws using a Flathead 2.5 mm screwdriver.

Image 1/1: The battery is attached to the motherboard.  The two will come out of the casing as one piece.
  • Gently lift the motherboard and battery away from the device casing.
