Canon PowerShot G12 Battery Replacement

Introduction

Replacing the battery is very simple and relatively non-invasive. If the battery has sustained corrosion or is simply not charging, replacement becomes necessary.

In this guide, you will learn how to replace the battery which is responsible for powering the camera.

Step 1 Battery

Turn the camera over with the bottom facing toward you.
Place your thumb on the compartment labeled "card/batt open" and slide it outward and up, exposing the battery.

Push out the red latch to release the lock.
Remove the battery.
Note the battery's position in the terminal.

To insert a new battery, push the red latch out.
Insert the battery into the terminal, ensuring the positive end marked with a red arrow is facing downward.
