First remove the batteries and memory card. Remove the screws for the back cover (circled in red) with a Phillips head screwdriver (PH000) .

The ribbon for the screen is folded under the plate. Carefully unfold the ribbon by flipping the screen face down next to the camera. Underneath the plate the connection between the camera and the ribbon can be viewed.
