Introduction

In order to replace internal components of the camera, the rear cover needs to be removed. This is a time consuming process, so make sure you have enough time to finish it. Do not rush as there are many different screw sizes. Keep screws and removed parts organized properly.

Image 1/1: Start by removing the two 2.5 mm Phillips  #PH00 black screws on both sides of the LCD screen.
  • Take the LCD out of its place to expose the Phillips #PH00 screws.

  • Start by removing the two 2.5 mm Phillips #PH00 black screws on both sides of the LCD screen.

  • Now remove the two 3 mm Phillips #PH00 black screws near both sides of the base where the screen swivels.

  • Using a plastic opening tool, carefully pry off the back cover of the LCD.

Image 1/2: Turn the screen to remove the second 3 mm Phillips #PH00 silver screw. Image 2/2: Turn the screen to remove the second 3 mm Phillips #PH00 silver screw.
  • Remove the 3 mm Phillips #PH00 silver screw on the side of the screen.

  • Turn the screen to remove the second 3 mm Phillips #PH00 silver screw.

  • Using the tweezers, carefully disconnect the rear connector by pulling it away from the screen.

Image 1/2: Turn the swivel around to expose the screws and use the PH00 screw driver to remove them. Image 2/2: Turn the swivel around to expose the screws and use the PH00 screw driver to remove them.
  • After removing the LCD screen, four 2.2 mm Phillips #PH00 screws holding a cover around the hinge will appear.

  • Turn the swivel around to expose the screws and use the PH00 screw driver to remove them.

Image 1/2: Remove the 3.4 mm Phillips #PH00 screw, that appears after removing the eye piece, using a PH00 screw driver. Image 2/2: Remove the two 9.9 mm Phillips #PH00 screws using the PH00 screwdriver once again.
  • Remove the eye piece by firmly pushing straight up. The eye piece will slide right off.

  • Remove the 3.4 mm Phillips #PH00 screw, that appears after removing the eye piece, using a PH00 screw driver.

  • Remove the two 9.9 mm Phillips #PH00 screws using the PH00 screwdriver once again.

  • After removing the screen, there will appear a single 3.8 mm Phillips #PH00 screw located on the back of the camera. Using the PH00 screwdriver, remove the screw.

Image 1/2: Remove the  four different sized screws located beneath the rubber grip. Image 2/2: 6 mm Phillips #PH00 screw in RED, 3.4 mm Phillips #PH00 screw in ORANGE, 3.9 mm Phillips #PH00 screw in YELLOW, and 2.2 mm Phillips #PH00 screw in GREEN.
  • Using the plastic opening tool, carefully pull up the rubber grip around the port side of the camera.

  • Remove the four different sized screws located beneath the rubber grip.

  • 6 mm Phillips #PH00 screw in RED, 3.4 mm Phillips #PH00 screw in ORANGE, 3.9 mm Phillips #PH00 screw in YELLOW, and 2.2 mm Phillips #PH00 screw in GREEN.

  • Using the plastic opening tool, carefully pry off the the side cover.

  • Remove both 4.8 mm Phillips #PH00 screws from the memory card side of camera using the PH00 screwdriver.

Image 1/1: Using the PH00 screw driver, remove the top three 3.5 mm Phillips #PH00 screws.
  • When holding the camera, look to the bottom of the camera so the serial number tag reads up right. You will be removing the three top Phillips #PH00 screws.

  • Using the PH00 screw driver, remove the top three 3.5 mm Phillips #PH00 screws.

Image 1/1: There is an orange wire connected to the motherboard of the camera. When the back cover is removed, gently pull the wire up and off of the motherboard.
  • Now that all screws are removed, gently pull off the back cover of the camera. This is done by pulling the cover back.
