Introduction

This repair guide visually maps out how to remove and replace the tweeters on a vintage Bose Series II speaker. Take caution when handling each component to ensure a successful repair.

Carefully place the speaker off to the side. Be sure to not place the speaker face down or put pressure on the speaker cone as this can damage the cone. Be aware of the very strong magnet in the driver of the speaker, which can cause damage to electronic devices in close proximity.

Remove the tweeter from the mount and locate the two wires that connect it to the speaker. Using the pliers, untwist the wires that are attached to the two small rods at the bottom of the tweeter.
