Introduction
Go to step 1 ↓Create a versatile, multi-boot USB drive using Ventoy, allowing you to boot and install multiple operating systems and utility tools from a single flash drive simply by copying ISO files.
System and Drive Requirements & Critical Warnings
- Storage Capacity: A USB flash drive of 64 GB is recommended for light-to-moderate use, while 128 GB or more is ideal if you plan to store numerous operating system images or master utility suites (such as multiple versions of Parted Magic, Windows ISOs or Linux ISOs).
- SSD use: If speed is critical, an NVMe SSD (250GB+) is recommended, but some enclosures may not show in Ventoy.
- 8-32GB flash drives: 8-32GB drives are serviceable but will only hold a few images at a time, and are generally not recommended for this guide, even if you have a good one on hand - this exclusion is being made due to space limitations.
- Exception: If you are making a single purpose stick like for legacy images for stubborn devices which refuse modern ISOs and you want one unified stick it will work as a limited purpose drive. Outside of this, there are too many downsides to using small drives.
- Data Loss: Installing Ventoy will completely format and erase the target USB flash drive. Ensure any necessary data is backed up to another location before proceeding, or use a drive you can safely format.
- Drive Selection & Permissions: Ventoy requires administrator privileges to run, so you may need admin credentials if you are using a standard user account. Before writing to the drive, verify that you have selected the correct target flash drive during setup to avoid accidentally erasing the wrong drive or your computer's primary storage. For absolute safety, temporarily disconnect any other external drives you do not need for the process.
- macOS Support: macOS is not supported by Ventoy.
- Linux Support: Linux is fully supported, with the caveat that you must execute the program from the terminal. While some distributions (such as Debian and its derivatives like Pop!_OS) allow you to right-click and run the GTK3 file with your admin password graphically, some do not. However, the terminal method remains universal.

Go to the Ventoy website and download Ventoy from the Downloads tab - select the right version for what you need. Once it is downloaded, put the file in the place your ISOs will be placed. Both versions need to be extracted to be run.
-
-
-
Plug the USB drive into your computer and have it ready - the drive can be corrupted, empty or blanked out to a RAW state without issues as the tool formats the drive.

-
-
With the drive in the PC, open Ventoy2Disk. Once Ventoy is opened, you will see the target drive -- MAKE SURE THE CORRECT DRIVE IS SELECTED OR OTHER DRIVES ARE REMOVED to avoid erasing the wrong one!
-
Select the target flash drive and then make sure it is the right one -- the entire drive will be erased. Once you selected the right one, click Install.
-
Select Install and the tool will be loaded onto the flash drive. You will receive 2 warnings about formatting the drive. This is normal, click Yes on both.

-
Once the drive is created, ISO placement is done by dragging the files to the drive named Ventoy. Copy the ISOs to the drive you will need for your drive.
