Introduction

This guide will show you how to remove the gear in the magneto. A broken gear can cause the magneto not to rotate and therefore, you cannot get the correct timing.

  • Use a #2 Flathead screw driver to remove the five screws on the body of the magneto

Image 1/1: Use a Milbar snap ring plier to remove the snap ring.
  • Locate the spark plug lead.

  • Use a Milbar snap ring plier to remove the snap ring.

  • The snap ring can be difficult to remove. Make sure the pliers needles go into the holes of the snap ring.

  • Wear safety goggles when removing the snap ring. The snap ring can shoot out on accident.
