Baumatic Washing Machine Dispenser Drawer Cleaning

What you need

    • Turn off the washing machine and unplug it from the wall before removing or cleaning the drawer.

    • Keep cleaning water away from the control panel and any electrical parts.

    • Find the dispenser drawer in the top-left corner of the front panel.

    • Gently pull the dispenser drawer straight out until it reaches its stop.

    • Don't force the drawer past the stop, because the release tab must be pressed first.

    • Look for the blue fabric softener level indicator inside the drawer.

    • Press down on the blue fabric softener level indicator to create extra clearance.

    • While holding the indicator down, pull the entire dispenser drawer out of the machine.

    • Keep the drawer level so residue doesn't spill into the washer or onto the floor.

    • Lift the blue fabric softener level indicator out of the dispenser drawer.

    • Wash the drawer and indicator with hot soapy water.

    • Use a wet cloth to scrub the drawer inside and out.

    • Use a brush in tight corners if residue remains.

    • Rinse the drawer and indicator, and let them drain before refitting.

    • Wipe inside the dispenser drawer cavity with hot soapy water and a wet cloth.

    • Don't push a brush into the dispenser cavity, because it can fall down the opening and damage the washing machine.

    • Remove residue from the visible surfaces so the drawer can slide smoothly.

    • Reinstall the blue fabric softener level indicator in the drawer.

    • Align the drawer with the grooves in the dispenser opening.

    • Push the drawer all the way in until it sits fully closed.

    • Stop and realign the drawer if it binds instead of forcing it.

    • Open the washing machine door and inspect the drum rubber for grime, debris, and blockages.

    • Wipe the drum rubber with hot soapy water and a wet cloth.

    • Use a brush to clean inside the grooves if buildup is heavy.

    • Clear any drainage holes in the drum rubber.

    • Plug the washing machine back in after cleaning is complete.

    • Run an empty wash on the hottest setting to flush residue through the system.

    • Use a 90 °C wash program or Drum Clean option if the machine has one.

    • Leave the drum empty during this cycle.
