Battery change LeapFrog reader

Unscrew the two long screws located on either side of the mini-USB port, under the blue rubber cap.

Spread the two white parts at the top of the pen (headphone socket side) as shown in photo 2, then lift the front panel to release the tabs from the bottom section.

Remove the two top screws and the one located at the bottom to release the motherboard.

To remove the motherboard, you must remove the green part at the bottom of the pen: remove the two visible screws, then proceed to the next step.

Pull downward with a quick, firm motion to disengage the snap fits. You can use a spudger to help, but ABOVE ALL, never do this if the plastic is below 22 °C: it risks breaking instead of deforming!

Remove the small white plastic part, paying attention to the orientation of the piece and the detection plate on the top side.

Once the green part is removed, you can lift the lower part of the motherboard out of its notch.

Unplug the connector indicated by the bubble.

Move the motherboard aside to reveal the protective casing of the Li-Po (lithium-polymer) battery.

Remove the battery, which is neither fixed nor glued in place.

Peel back the metal plates to access the battery itself and remove it from the black casing.

The battery has the standardized part number 781469: 3.7 V, 2.8 Wh, or 750 mAh. It measures approximately 73 × 14 × 8 mm. It has three wires (+/− and control).
