Barbie Doll Hair Replacement

What you need

    • Use light force to pull barbie head off of the body.

    • If stuck, soak in warm water to loosen.

    • Cut off all of the remaining hair using scissors.

    • Tweezers may be used once hair is too short for scissors.

    • It is important to remove as much hair as possible.

    • Cut the yarn pieces for doll hair.

    • With a ruler, measure equal pieces twice as long as intended hair length.

    • Cut enough for desired hair thickness.

    • To make up for inconsistencies in length, you may cut pieces longer and trim later.

    • Thread yarn between the forked tip of the reroot tool.

    • Attempt to thread the yarn at its midpoint for more even hair.

    • Insert the reroot tool into a small hole atop the doll's head.

    • Push the yarn inside as far as the tool will allow.

    • Remove the reroot tool from the head, leaving the yarn tucked inside.

    • Add glue to the inside of the doll's head.

    • Plug in and preheat the glue gun.

    • Insert glue gun from the base of the head.

    • Add a thicker layer of glue for stronger hair.

    • Hot glue can cause burns when exposed directly to skin.

    • After applying glue, use the blunt end of the rerooting tool to spread glue to cover the inside of the head.

    • Do this immediately after applying glue, because it will dry quickly.

    • Wait for the glue to dry (15-30 minutes).

    • Once the glue is dry, attach the Barbie head back onto the neck joint.

    • For extra styling and volume, you may separate yarn strands.
