BabySense V43 Screen Replacement

What you need

  1. BabySense V43 Screen Replacement, Remove the battery: step 1, image 1 of 1
    • Remove the protective cover to expose the battery and detach the power connector.

  2. BabySense V43 Screen Replacement, Remove the screen cover: step 2, image 1 of 3 BabySense V43 Screen Replacement, Remove the screen cover: step 2, image 2 of 3 BabySense V43 Screen Replacement, Remove the screen cover: step 2, image 3 of 3
    • Lift the screen cover to expose three screws holding the plastic case together.

    • To lift the screen cover, use a spludger or otherwise small tool to lift the cover.

    • The cover is glued together, so lift the cover slightly and then use an opening pick to ensure that part doesn't get glued back

    • Work your way through the screen with another opening pick to unglue the cover. Leave opening picks where needed to ensure those parts are not glued back as you work your way through the cover with the opening pick

  3. BabySense V43 Screen Replacement, Unscrew the case: step 3, image 1 of 1
    • Once the cover is lifted, three PH0 screws are visible. Remove them

  4. BabySense V43 Screen Replacement, Open the case: step 4, image 1 of 2 BabySense V43 Screen Replacement, Open the case: step 4, image 2 of 2
    • After removing the screws, take an opening pick and work your way through the case. The case has three plastic joints holding it together

    • As you run your opening pick through the case, these joints will pop out. They might need a small push with a spludger, if they seem to offer too much resistance

  5. BabySense V43 Screen Replacement, Disconnect the loud speaker: step 5, image 1 of 1
    • The loud speaker in the back of the case is attached to the motherboard through a connector

    • Lift the connector upwards to disconnect it. I find that a spludger works well, with slight nudges from side to side, as these connectors offer some resistance

  6. BabySense V43 Screen Replacement, Remove the screen: step 6, image 1 of 1
    • The motherboard is secured to the front of the case by the plastic holders marked in blue circles.

    • Use a spludger to gently push these holders and pop the motherboard out of their grasp

    • Beware that the screen is loose, so it might fall or damage the connector cable

    • The screen is connected to the motherboard with the connector marked by the blue rectangle. Use a spludger to lift the black part of the connector upwards

    • Remove the cable and the screen

    • Place the new screen in the front of the motherboard and align it with the case.

    • Connect the new screen to the motherboard

    • Reassemble in reverse order of this guide

    • One note when glueing the screen cover back. I used 2mm electronic double sided tape, however, the existing glue should be enough to hold the cover. My recommendation is adding double sided tape, as thin as you can, on the edges of the screen and use that to glue the cover

Conclusion

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
