Atari 2600 Jr. Rev. A Disassembly

What you need

  1. Atari 2600 Jr. Rev. A Disassembly, Remove the base: step 1, image 1 of 1
    • Remove 5 Phillips screws from base.

    • Use a metal or heavy duty spudger to unhook the 3 plastic clips holding the front of the case together.

    • Be careful not to break the plastic clips

    • While unhooking the center hook use another spudger to run along the top and bottom casing. This helps to get the clip lose.

    • Be careful not to pull the case apart quickly, there is a ribbon that is attached to the top and bottom.

    • Detach the ribbon from the circuit board by gently pulling ribbon out from clip.

    • There are 2 clips holding the circuit board in place.

    • Using a metal or heavy duty spudger release the clip on the left side.

    • Remove the circuit board.

Great process for dis-assembly. Now all I need is a replacement reed switch as mine is broken. Being in Australia it is very hard to find one locally. many Thanks.
