Asus VivoBook S200E-RHI3T73 DC Jack Replacement

What you need

  1. Asus VivoBook S200E-RHI3T73 DC Jack Replacement, DC Jack: step 1, image 1 of 1
    • Before repairing the device, be sure that it is powered off and unplugged.

    • Remove the five 8.0 mm screws using the Phillips #0 screwdriver.

    • Remove the four 5.0 mm screws using the Phillips #0 screwdriver.

    • Carefully remove the back of the laptop and set it aside.

    • Use a Phillips #0 screwdriver to remove the twelve 5.0 mm screws securing the battery.

    • Use a spudger to gently lift the connector tab between the battery and the circuit board.

    • Gently remove the battery from the laptop.

    • Use a Phillips #0 screwdriver to remove seven screws from the right half of the motherboard.

    • If you are unsure where the motherboard is located please try to refer to the picture as best as you can in order for it to help guide you along the way.

    • Use a Phillips #0 screwdriver to remove the 5.0 mm screws from the fan and disconnect the fan port.

    • Use the screwdriver to remove remaining screws from the right side of the motherboard.

    • Remove the four screws from the Ethernet port and disconnect the Ethernet port.

    • Pull the motherboard to the left and upward to remove it from the laptop.

    • Locate the DC Jack on the motherboard.

    • Use a soldering iron to disconnect the DC Jack from the motherboard.

    • Be careful when soldering, as this can cause injury if done so improperly. It can get very hot and burn.

    • Replace with new DC Jack and solder in to secure it.
