Asus TUF A15 FA506IV GPU Fan Replacement/Repair

    • Make sure the laptop is unplugged and you are in a clean, static free area with plenty of room to work.

    • Keep a notepad (or cardboard sheets) nearby to help keep track of what screws you take out and their placement.

    • You must make sure you place them back correctly as you can damage components with the wrong size screw. I would recommend taking a picture and making notes.

    • Remove the screws in the shown areas.

    • Make sure you have the correct mapping when you remove the screws as they need to go back into the correct slots.

    • Using a guitar pick or very slim plastic pry tool (some people have used the edge of credit cards), carefully pry the edges of the backplate to help release it from the chassis.

    • Carefully remove the cable from the battery port.

    • REMEBER TO GRAB THE EDGES OF THE CONNECTOR. DO NOT PULL THE CABLES.

    • Remove the two screws as shown.

    • Remove the battery. Inspect it for any bulging, excessive heat, and damage. Replace if needed.

    • Locate the NVMe drives.

    • On my model, there are two slots. I have a NVMe drive in both.

    • Unscrew each NVMe drive. The drive will lift up as you unscrew. Once the screw is removed, carefully pull the drive out by the edges.

    • Set the drive(s) aside in a safe location to prevent damage.

Conclusion

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
