Introduction

The Asus K55A-Si50301P RAM Replacement Guide explains the tools and processes used to replace/remove the RAM. RAM can become faulty from the manufacturer or could be damaged when put into its slot on the computer. If the RAM is damaged the computer will not be able to power on if you have one slot used or limit your ability to multitask if you have multiple RAM slots used. What you need

    • Press and slide the two battery retention clips on either side of the battery towards the unlock position.

    • Pull the right side retention clip so that the red indicator is showing.

    • The small graphic below the retention clip denotes locked and unlocked positions. The clip will stay put once moved into position.

    • Pull the retention clip on the left hand side of the laptop away from the battery.

    • Gently pull the battery out with your free hand.

    • Remove the two 8.5mm screws using a PH0 screwdriver.

    • Using the iFixit opening tool, gently pry the plastic cover away from its original position.

    • Gently pull up and then towards you until the plastic cover is free.

    • Press slot pins outwards with gentle force.

    • After the RAM stick pops up, pull it towards you to gently remove it.
