Use this guide to replace the keyboard in the Asus Eee PC 1005HA.

Image 1/1: Locate the two battery lock tabs.
  • Lay the laptop upside down.

  • Locate the two battery lock tabs.

  • Slide the tabs outward to unlock the battery.

  • Use a plastic opening tool to pull out the four metal latches in the battery cavity.

Image 1/3: Use a plastic opening tool to lift the edge of the keyboard nearest the display. Image 2/3: Gently lift the keyboard and slide it towards the display. Image 3/3: Do not completely remove the keyboard. A ribbon cable connects the underside of the keyboard to the laptop.
  • Flip the laptop over and open the display.

  • Use a plastic opening tool to lift the edge of the keyboard nearest the display.

  • Using a spudger, release the tabs on the keyboard ribbon cable ZIF connector.
