Before you begin, make sure the device is off. The screen and digitizer will come off as one connected component.

No parts required.

Image 1/3: Use a plastic opening tool to pry the screen up in the right hand corner. Image 2/3: Use a plastic opening tool to pry the screen up in the right hand corner. Image 3/3: Use a plastic opening tool to pry the screen up in the right hand corner.
  • Avoid prying near bottom right hand side due to LCD Connector

  • Use a plastic opening tool to pry the screen up in the right hand corner.

Image 1/1: Lift the screen and digitizer from the case.
  • Do not completely remove the screen yet as there is a ZIF connector connected.

  • Lift the screen and digitizer from the case.

  • You may need to use some force due to the glue.

Image 1/2: Disconnect the ribbon connector from the digitizer side using your hands or the plastic opening tool. Image 2/2: Disconnect the ribbon connector from the digitizer side using your hands or the plastic opening tool.
  • Be mindful of the ZIF connector.

  • Disconnect the ribbon connector from the digitizer side using your hands or the plastic opening tool.

  • Remove the screen and digitizer from the case completely.

Where can you get a replacement digitizer screen? My grandson dropped his a couple days ago & I don't want to spend another $200 for a new one.

I am seeing replacement screen/digitizers for these now on ebay. With a little searching around I found one direct ship from Hong Kong for $70US. Good Luck!

I need the the cable that goes to the sceen. As i changed out my battery, when i tried to carefully remove the zif connector, it broke off. Woe is me.
