Alienware M15x Optical Drive Replacement

In this guide, we will be showing you how to remove and replace the Optical Drive.

What you need

  1. Alienware M15x Optical Drive Replacement, Remove the Screw: step 1, image 1 of 1

    • WARNING: Before working inside your computer, read the safety information that shipped with your computer.

    • WARNING: Before performing these procedures, turn off the computer, disconnect the AC adapter from the electrical outlet and the computer, disconnect the modem from the wall connector and the computer, and remove any other external cables from the computer.

    • Remove the screw that secures the optical drive to the computer base.

    • Make sure the Center Control Center, Keyboard, Palm Rest, Display Assembly, Magnesium Cover and Input/Output Board is removed.

    • Remove the three screws that secure the optical drive to the computer base.

    • Lift the optical drive out of the computer.

    • Remove the five screws that secure the optical drive to the optical-drive bracket and lift the optical-drive bracket out.
