What you need

1. Step 1 Removing the Base Panel
  WARNING : Before working inside your computer, read the safety information that shipped with your computer and follow the steps in Before Working Inside Your Computer. After working inside your computer, follow the instructions in After Working Inside Your Computer.
  
  Make sure the base panel is removed.
  
  Make sure the palm rest is removed too.
  
  Lift the latches and disconnect the touch-pad cable and the status-light cable from the power-button board.

2. Step 2 Disconnecting the Power-Board Cable
  Disconnect the power-button cable from the power-button board.

3. Step 3 Screw Removal
  Remove the screws that secure the power-button board to the palm-rest assembly.

5. Step 4 Lifting the Power-Button Board
  Lift the power-button board off the palm-rest assembly.

6. Step 5 Aligining the Screws
  Align the screw holes on the power-button board with the screw holes on the palm-rest assembly.

7. Step 6 Replacing the Screws
  Replace the screws that secure the power-button board to the palm-rest assembly.

8. Step 7 Connecting the Power-Button Board Cable
  Connect the power-button board cable to the power-button board.

9. Step 8 Securing the Cables
  Slide the touch-pad cable and the status-light cable into their respective connectors on the power-button board and press down the latches to secure the cables.
