Introduction
If your ASUS VivoBook S400C has an extremely short battery life or does not hold a charge, use this guide to replace the battery.
Over time, a battery may degrade in quality and fail to hold a long charge or take a charge at all. Before using this guide, check that no other factors are preventing a charge.
Before beginning, make sure your laptop is powered off and disconnected from any external power source. Take extra care if your battery is swollen .
What you need

Flip the device over and remove the ten 5.7 mm screws with a Phillips #0 screwdriver.

Use a spudger or your fingers to go around and lift the edges and release the back panel.

Using a spudger, lift up the plug connecting the battery to the motherboard.

With a Phillips #0 screwdriver, remove the four 5.7 mm screws holding the battery to the laptop.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
