  • Make sure the device is powered off before beginning.

  • Use the Plastic Opening tool to pry the five slots up at the top of the keyboard.

Image 1/2: Use the Plastic Opening tool to open the two black clips on each side of the connecting cords, (LCD flex cable and flex band). Image 2/2: After pushing each end of the clips out, towards the entering cable, you can then pull out the cable.
  • Lift the keyboard slowly but not all of the way out.

  • Push out each end of the black clip with a plastic opening tool or nylon spudger to remove the ribbon cable.

Image 1/3: Once the keyboard has been removed, use the spudger tool to pry around the edge of the laptop until it frees.   • Remove the 13 Phillips 4mm head size 5 mm long screws from the back of the laptop.

  • Use the spudger tool to unplug the two cords from the body by pushing on the tabs on the side of each plug towards the cable.
