2013 Acura ILX Mass Air Flow Sensor Replacement

What you need

  1. 2013 Acura ILX Mass Air Flow Sensor Replacement, Mass Air Flow Sensor: step 1, image 1 of 1
    • Disconnect the battery terminals by first loosening them with a 10 mm wrench.

    • Always remove the negative terminal first to prevent shorting to ground and possibly causing shock or even a fire.

    • Make sure the car is off and the the key is out of the ignition.

    • Squeeze the clip on the top side of the wiring connector and pull out to remove it.

    • Do not touch the connections with your fingers, it may bend the needles and cause malfunction.

    • With a Phillips screwdriver, unscrew the two bolts that hold the sensor in place.

    • Pull the sensor up slowly to take it out of its casing

    • With a cloth towel, clean the surface from any dirt or oil.

    • Try not to have anything fall into the opening where the sensor is positioned.

    • Insert the new sensor and secure it down using the Philips screwdriver.

    • Connect the wiring harness back on the sensor.
