2013-2016 Dodge Dart Driver Side Speaker Replacement (2013, 2014, 2015, 2016)

Introduction

This guide will help accomplish the replacement of a speaker on the driver side door of a 2014 Dodge Dart. Use this guide if the sound coming from the speakers are either blown or the sound is on the crackling side of speaker damage.

Over time, overuse of a speaker can cause damage to the speaker itself if not used properly, as well as using unsafe levels of volume can increase damage to a speaker. Another reason can be rain or liquid damage. It cannot be thought of, but any water or liquid damage to the side door where the speaker is can easily cause speaker damage.

Some forums may tell a person to simply go to a mechanic or just by another car due to the age of the car. However, we think there is a simpler way to just replace the speaker yourself with no need for such expensive approaches to simply fix and replace the damaged speaker.

This guide will require the following tools:

1 - 10mm ratchet
1 - 7mm ratchet
1 - prying tool
1 - Screwdriver with assorted bits [use the one that is the torx (looks like a star/star bit)]

This guide will require the following one part:

1 - Pioneer TS-A6987S 6"x 9" 700 Watt 5-way Car Speaker

Go to the driver side control panel and pry the red circled area with a screwdriver.
The orange circle area demonstrates how it should look after the panel pried.
Unscrew the screw with the 7 mm ratchet.

Look toward the driver side door handle (this step requires both hands and a prying tool).
Hold the door handle with one hand and use the other with the tool and go to the corner of the panel highlighted in orange and start the prying process.
The yellow circle shows how it should look like after prying the panel successfully.
Unscrew the screw with the 10 mm ratchet.

Look to this section by the window that is highlighted by the red circle.
Pry this section off with a screwdriver at the top carefully.
The yellow section shows how it would look like when done successfully.

Go to the bottom of the door and pry the door off with a prying tool.
The second photo shows how it would look like when it is being successfully taken off the rest of the door.
The door has been taken off successfully.

Use a Torx screwdriver to unscrew the four screws.
Take off speaker from area and flip over speaker.
Go to next step.

Inspect wires to see any damages involved.
Take off wires connected from speaker as shown.

Grab the new speaker and connect the two wires back on to the new speaker.

Put the new speaker in its original place and replace the Torx screws.

Start lining up the door to put it back into place. Start from the bottom and see if you can line up where the door screws were to put it back into its proper place.
Go check if the rest of the door lines up with the rest of the car door.
The door is completely back on.

Refer back to step three but go backwards to put the highlighted section back into place.
It can be easily clicked back into place.

This step requires the same steps as step 2 but backwards. It just requires to put back the screw back with the 10 mm ratchet and to put the plate back in its spot that is highlighted by the red circle.

Replace and retighten the screw with a 7 mm ratchet.
Place the panel back in its proper place.
The same screwdriver used in a previous step or a hand can be used to help push this panel back into its rightful place.
