This guide will walk you through how to dissemble your key FOB, replace the battery, and reassemble it. Be careful with the internal battery as it could be corroded and needs to be disposed of properly. This guide is simple and can be done quickly instead of paying a high price for a replacement key.

Use a spudger or opening tool to open the key fob by inserting it into the indent on the side of the fob and prying it up.
We don't recommend using a screwdriver for prying (as the photo demonstrates) as this could cause damage to the fob or battery.

Use a spudger to pry the battery up.

Remove the battery.
