Introduction
Without a working battery, your car won't start. Replacement is the best long-term solution for this for a dead battery. You could get a boost from another car using jumper cables, but there's a chance the battery will die soon afterwards. Although the chance of shocking yourself is not very high, grounding yourself is recommended. Wearing rubber gloves is also recommended.

Locate the latch to open your hood, normally located by your left foot when sitting in the driver's seat.

After lifting the latch, open your hood and securely hold it up.

The battery is located on the front driver's side of the vehicle.

Begin using your ratchet to loosen and remove the negative (black) cable from the terminal.

Remove the cross-bar that holds the battery in place by loosening both bolts.

Lift out the bracket.
