2000 Gmc Sierra Light Replacement

What you need

  1. 2000 Gmc Sierra Light Replacement, Headlights, Taillights, and an overhead light: step 1, image 1 of 1
    • Open your tailgate fully, exposing both sides where the tailgate sits.

    • Unscrew the two phillips head screws located above and below the tailgate support.

    • Once the screws have been removed, simply pull off the taillight. The red plug is the taillight. Twist it a quarter turn counter clockwise, and pop it out.

    • Remove the old bulb and replace it with your new one.

    • Side note: Make sure replacement bulb is save voltage/amperage rating.

    • Open the hood and take a look above your headlights.

    • Two metal pins holding each of the headlights in place will need to be removed (no tool necessary).

    • Turn the plastic headlight mount counter clockwise by one quarter of a turn.

    • Then lift the pins up to fully remove them.

    • Once the pins have been removed, GENTLY pull your headlight upwards, towards you. The bulbs should now be exposed. The bulb on the top is your headlight.

    • As you did with the taillight bulb, turn the piece that is holding the bulb in place a quarter turn counter clockwise, and the bulb will pop out. Now your new bulb will take it's place.

Conclusion

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
