Webcams can be damaged very easily, but luckily they are also easy to replace. Please only use this guide after trying some troubleshooting steps on your computer, you don't want to open up your laptop if it is not necessary. You can troubleshoot by re-starting it, updating software, or rebooting it. If your camera still doesn't work, go ahead with executing these steps.
