TO INSERT THE NEEDLE
Raise the needle bar to its highest point.
Loosen the needle clamp screw (1), and insert the thick end of the needle. with the flat side to the right. into slot of the needle bar (2).
Insert the needle as high as it will go and ighten the needle clamp screw firmly.

TO REMOVE AND REPLACE THE BOBBIN CASE
Turn the balance wheel towards you until the needle bar is at its highest point.
Open the shuttle cover plate (I) in the bed of the machine,
Insert the thumb and forefinger to open the latch and withdraw the bobbin case. On releasing the latch, the bobbin will drop o~t.
To replace the bobbin case in the shuttle race hold by the latch and place it on the centre stud as illustrated, and press it -in until the latch catches the groove in the stud.

Disconnect the balance wheel by holding it in the left hand, while
