The main problem with this blender is that the rotary dial no longer controls the unit, but feels as if it is rotating freely.
The reason for this is a broken plastic driver. This can be easily glued back together. However, that is more of a symptom than the cause. The root cause is on the PCB, where the rest of the mechanism is located. This mechanism becomes very stiff after some time. By filing down the plastic locking tabs, the work of the control switch is permanently eased, which will allow the glued part to hold for a while.
Note on opening the housing:
The driver for the blade has a left-hand thread!!
By blocking the cooling fan on the underside with a small flathead screwdriver, the driver can be unscrewed.
After removing the three screws (slotted with a center pin), the housing can then be opened.
When removing the base, the motor is taken out with it.
The upper part of the housing does not necessarily need to be removed:
- Advantage: The stylish trim on the underside can be removed and protected. Removing the switch unit becomes somewhat easier.
- Disadvantage: The mechanisms for the safety switches fall out. These are prone to breaking during reassembly.
After unscrewing the PCB (for the control elements), the start-stop button can be pushed out by pressing two plastic tabs.
Subsequently, the adjustment ring can be released by pressing the three plastic tabs one after another.
During reassembly, the black actuator must be threaded into the glued driver. The Max. position has proven effective for this. Together with this, the white (later illuminated) plastic part must be inserted. Everything must be free of tension when screwing it back together - otherwise, it is incorrectly assembled.
