Background and Identification
Veterinarians use veterinary medical devices to treat sick and injured animals. Devices found in a veterinary clinic span a wide range—from syringes and exam tables to automatic bedding dispensers and complex imaging equipment.
The FDA does have regulatory oversight of veterinary equipment, but does not require pre-market approval. Veterinarians and animal owners are encouraged to report any product defects to the FDA.
