1. Fuel:
   • Check that the fuel tank is filled with the correct type of fuel. For 2-stroke engines, use a 2-stroke mix (gasoline + oil). For 4-stroke engines, fill with gasoline.

  • Clean the air filter with soapy water or Stihl Special Varioclean Eco Cleaner and let it dry completely before reinstalling it, or if possible use a compressor with a dust blower or a compressed air can to dry it and remove the last residues.
  • If the filter is damaged, replace it with a new one.
    3. Use of Starting Fluid:

  • If your machine was able to start, that is a good sign. However, after long storage, some machines may require the use of Starting Fluid to restart. If this is the case, correctly reassemble the entire air filter and restart the starting procedure (leaving the choke open if the engine has run with the Starting Fluid).
  • If your machine starts, let it run at idle for about 30 seconds. It is possible that the engine will stall during this time while the fuel reaches the engine; if this happens, simply restart your machine. Then, taking the appropriate precautions, do a few accelerations to check if the engine is running correctly. If everything seems in order, your machine has probably come back to life.     4. Starter:
  • Ensure that your starter pulls correctly and also turns the engine; you will feel stiff points at regular intervals.
