The Porsche 928, produced from 1978 to 1995, was originally intended to replace the 911. The 928 was Porsche’s first production V8. It featured a front-mounted, water-cooled V8 engine and a rear-mounted transaxle. Porsche achieved a near-perfect 50/50 weight distribution. It evolved from a 4.5L grand tourer to the 5.4L "supercar" GTS.
